WAXING

At Charm, we specialize in the use of hard wax, which is a less painful way to remove hair. It's simple, quick and only adheres to the hair. This wax is perfect for people with sensitive skin who are prone to irritation and ingrown hair. Also, it works at a lower temperature, which makes the experience more comfortable. 

Wax Tips

• Know that your skin is its most sensitive to pain a week before your cycle, during pregnancy, and after shaving.

• Exfoliate and avoid tight clothing if you are prone to ingrown hairs. Grow any hair you want waxed to the length of a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch (it usually takes about four weeks).

• Apply a 1% Hydrocortisone cream to soothe areas that feel irritated after waxing.

• To avoid irritation, don't soak in a bath or hot tub for 24 hours after waxing. Don't expose waxed areas to the sun for a week after waxing to avoid redness or hyperpigmentation.

• Don't exercise for 24 hours after waxing, the sweat can lead to break outs. Trim hair before coming in for a wax to a 1/4 inch to a 1/2 inch.

Your Alexandria Professional Body Sugaring Practitioner will be able to schedule your appointments best because they will become very familiar with your hair growth pattern. Hair growth need not exceed ⅛” to be removed.

Preparing Your Skin For Your Treatment

Please do not use a razor or depilatory creams between appointments, as this will interfere with your goal to refine and diminish your hair growth and to have smooth healthy skin. Regularly hydrating and exfoliating your skin between sugaring treatments is just as important as receiving treatment.  You will receive best results if your skin is health. Consult your Alexandria Practitioner on how you can maximize your results. The better your skin, the better the treatment. The better your treatment, the better your skin...It’s that simple!

Faces

If required, to quickly reduce redness in this area, either have your Alexandria Practitioner apply a Hungarian Wellness Mud mask immediately following treatment or apply it at your convenience at home with our Mud Puddle Hungarian Wellness Mud.  You may develop a few white pustules in this area following your 1st and 2nd treatments. This can be treated and even prevented by soaking a cotton pad in a mixture of Saltspring and water and applying it to the related area for 5 minutes following treatment. One tablespoon of Saltspring to half a cup of cool/lukewarm water is sufficient. Consult your Alexandria Practitioner regarding the many benefits of our Hungarian Wellness Mud.
